Mitch Davis Biography

Mitch Davis graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English and continued his studies with a Master of Arts in filmmaking at the University of Southern California. Following graduation, Davis was hired as a creative executive at Disney where he worked on such films as _Dead Poet's Society (1989)_, _White Fang (1991)_, The Rocketeer (1991), and Newsies (1992). This job opened doors to Columbia's Cash and Epps production company where Davis served as Vice-President of Development. In 1995, Davis wrote and co-directed the Disney Channel film, "Windrunner." That film provided an excellent segue into his next picture, 2001's release of "The Other Side of Heaven." Davis describes the making of that film as the realization of an impossibly large dream. Enter producers Gerald Molen and John Garbett who helped Davis make his vision come to life. The film, which stars Christopher Gorham and Anne Hathaway, was shot entirely in Rarotonga, Cook Islands and Auckland, New Zealand. It details the amazing adventures of John Groberg, who served as a missionary in the exotic Tongan islands in the 1950s.
