Jo Hartley Biography

Jo Hartley was born in Oldham, Lancashire in 1972. Attended North Chadderton Comprehensive School. First cast in a school production of 'The Sound of Music' at 12 years old, where she got a taste for acting!She went on to join Oldham Theatre Workshop for several years. Studied acting and watched many films. She attended OTW until she was 16 years of age. Then at 17 years old her father died. Jo decided to travel.After several years of working for Japanese Airlines & traveling, she made a decision to revisit acting! She joined Questors Theatre Group in Ealing, London and had tuition, one on one!In 2002 Jo bumped into British film director Shane Meadows at a casting for a commercial! After working together on the project, Shane invited her to audition for 'The Skull' now known as 'Dead Man's Shoes', in which she was cast. This was her first professional feature film! She has been acting professionally since.
